The Turag-Tongi-Balu river channel is a vital water body providing water for domestic, agricultural, and industrial use. However, increasing pollution from industrial effluents, domestic waste, and agricultural runoff has led to contamination of the water and aquatic life, particularly fish. Dr. Hossain investigated the immediate health risks related to the concentration of heavy metals in contaminated freshwater fishes from the river channel of Turag-Tongi-Balu.
